The Saranda promenade

Almost everything in Saranda happens along one strip: the Shëtitorja Naim Frashëri, the waterfront promenade curving around the bay with Corfu on the horizon. Bars, lounges and restaurants run shoulder to shoulder for about a kilometre, the evening stroll fills it from around 6pm, and this is where the party boats board — the Vikingen casts off from the waterfront and the El Mar boat tour meets at Guma on the promenade. At the north side of the bay, Mango Beach Club turns from beach into open-air club after dark.

Ksamil

Fifteen kilometres south of Saranda, inside Butrint National Park, sits the village the travel press calls the Maldives of Albania: white sand, its famous islets a short swim or kayak away, and the highest concentration of beach clubs on the Riviera. This is party central — White Party Sundays at Greg Beach, wild Saturdays at Principotes, and Poda's bay running from beach loungers at sunrise to an open-air club deep into the night.

The Saranda–Ksamil coast road

The road between Saranda and Ksamil hugs the coast, and some of the Riviera's best sunset venues sit right on it, over the water. Lost Seaside — beach, bar, restaurant and lounge club in one — hosts the White Party Sunset Edition every Tuesday, and at the northern edge of Ksamil, Mulino Beach pours its saltwater infinity pool into the Ionian from a deck built around a real windmill.

Rruga Butrinti & the resort strip

Rruga Butrinti is the seafront road leaving Saranda towards Butrint, and the address of the bigger seafront resorts. The landmark is Bougainville Bay Resort & SPA, a short walk from the centre, whose rooftop infinity pool looks straight over the Ionian towards Corfu — the stage of the Infinity Sunset Pool Party every Thursday. A good base if you want resort comfort within reach of both the promenade and Ksamil.

Insider Tips

Sunset first, club later

The Riviera runs on the sun. Pool parties start at 6:30–7pm and finish at midnight, the White Party Sunset Edition runs 8pm to midnight, and only then do the Ksamil club nights kick in around 11:30pm — Greg Beach's LA FRENCH nights are billed until the early morning. From about 6pm the whole promenade comes alive for the xhiro, the Albanian evening stroll — start there.

Dress code

The White Parties are strictly all white — total white outfit, no exceptions, it is the whole point of the night. At beach and pool clubs, swimwear and a cover-up is fine during the day. For the night events, smart casual beachwear works. Always carry photo ID: the boat party is strictly 18+ with physical ID checked at boarding.

Getting around

Saranda–Ksamil is 15 km, 20–25 minutes. Summer buses run roughly every 20–60 minutes until about 8pm (100–150 lek, cash on board). Taxis have no official tariff — agree the fare before getting in, and expect it to be very negotiable. If your night ends after midnight in Ksamil, sort your ride back in advance rather than negotiating on the sand at five past midnight.

Money

Albania uses the lek (about 95 lek to the euro). Euros are accepted almost everywhere touristy, but at a worse rate — paying in lek is cheaper. Keep cash for buses, beach bars and small places. And book party tickets online: they sell in batches and each batch is cheaper than the next, let alone the door.

When is the party season in Saranda and Ksamil?

Summer. The Riviera's beach season runs from around May to October, and the Life Events programme runs weekly fixtures through the summer: White Party Sundays at Greg Beach in Ksamil, the White Party Sunset Edition on Tuesdays at Lost Seaside, the Infinity Sunset Pool Party on Thursdays, The Wolf of Wall Street on Saturdays at Principotes, plus boat parties on selected dates.

What time do parties start on the Albanian Riviera?

Sunset first, club later. The pool parties start at 6:30–7pm and run to midnight, the White Party Sunset Edition runs 8pm to midnight, and the big beach club nights in Ksamil start around 11:30pm — the LA FRENCH nights at Greg Beach are billed until the early morning hours. Do I need to book party tickets in advance?

Yes — tickets are sold in batches (Early Bird, First Batch…) and the price steps up as each batch sells out, so booking online early is cheaper than the door. Book the specific date you want: these are recurring events with per-date availability.

What is the dress code for the White Party?

Strictly all white. It is the whole concept of the night — wear your best all-white outfit. That applies both to White Party Sundays at Greg Beach and the Sunset Edition at Lost Seaside. Flat shoes are sensible: you will be on sand.
